Rupert Ursin is a physicist with focus on quantum communication, the head of the ‘Ursin Group’ and deputy director of IQOQI Vienna. Working on his master thesis at CERN and doing his Ph.D. at the University of Vienna in Quantum Physics, he received the “Christian-Doppler-Prize” in 2009.

His field of interests got him to experiment with quantum teleportation of photons. Beginning only with short distances, teleportation distances were extended over time. Together with the ESA and other partners, they were able to distribute entangled photons over a distance of 144 km.

In his talk at TEDxTUWien, we will learn the matter of quantum communication.
